Zwehle Logistics Gives Back
Mentorship and Industry Insight for Rosebank College Logistics Students - 05 June 2025

As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and skills development within the logistics and supply chain sector, Zwehle Logistics recently visited Rosebank College to engage with students studying towards careers in logistics and transport management.
The visit formed part of the company's broader initiative to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry experience, giving students direct access to professionals actively operating within the freight, transport, and supply chain space.
Mentorship With Purpose
The session brought together logistics students eager to understand what a career in the industry truly looks like — from the operational realities of freight brokerage and road transport to the compliance, safety, and business development skills required to succeed in a competitive sector.
Zwehle Group Executive Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Lunga Ngcobo, led the initiative and addressed students directly, sharing insights drawn from his experience building and growing the Zwehle Group of companies.
"I am youth myself, and I didn't have a mentor coming up. I know what it's like to want guidance and not have anyone to turn to. That's why moments like this matter to me — I want to show the youth that as a youth-owned company, we can play in an industry that is already established, and that we can also be a part of it," said Mr Ngcobo.
Practical Seminars, Real Industry Context
Beyond mentorship, the visit included seminars covering key topics relevant to students entering the logistics field, including:
- An overview of freight brokerage and road transport operations
- Industry compliance and safety standards
- Career pathways within logistics, transport, and supply chain management
- Insights into running and growing a logistics business in South Africa
Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage openly, resulting in candid discussion around the day-to-day challenges and opportunities within the sector.
A Continued Commitment to Skills Development
This engagement with Rosebank College reflects Zwehle Logistics' ongoing commitment to youth development, education, and meaningful transformation within the logistics industry. As a majority Black-owned, B-BBEE Level 1 company, Zwehle Group continues to prioritise initiatives that create real opportunities for young South Africans looking to build careers in transport and logistics.
Zwehle Logistics remains committed to expanding these partnerships with academic institutions, ensuring that the next generation of logistics professionals enters the industry equipped with both the knowledge and the practical guidance needed to thrive.
